Understanding offers

Minimum spend, caps, and promo terms

The headline is a starting point. The mechanics determine whether it applies.

Check dates and who qualifies

Read the spending period before planning a purchase, then check the listed card variants and any invitation or registration condition. A future date for posting cashback is not the same as a future deadline for making a qualifying purchase.

For example, the issuer’s BDO online cashback mechanics (opens in a new tab) separately list qualifying cards, spending dates, a minimum transaction amount, cumulative spending, and a maximum cashback amount. That linked offer’s spending period ended September 30, 2026; it illustrates how terms are structured, not a current spending opportunity.

Single receipt and cumulative spend differ

Ask whether the minimum applies to one transaction or to several transactions combined. A cumulative offer can still require each included transaction to meet its own minimum. Do not assume that splitting a purchase or combining receipts will qualify.

Calculate the cap before choosing

Consider a fictional 20% discount with a PHP 500 cap. On an eligible PHP 4,000 bill, the percentage calculation gives PHP 800, but the cap limits the discount to PHP 500. This is an illustration, not an offer in the catalog.

Then read whether the limit is per transaction, card, cardholder, day, or promo period. Check excluded items, participating branches, payment channels, and whether other offers can be combined. When the source does not establish an answer, ask the issuer or participating merchant before spending.

Waismo detail pages show the catalog reference and issuer link. They do not replace the full mechanics or guarantee eligibility.
